Ulrike Claßen-Büttner wrote a nice book about nailbinding:
This book is at the moment just available in German but it is a very good source for everyone who would like to know more about nailbinding – techniques, history and also examples of nailbinding all over the world as well as modern examples of its useage – that’s actually where you can find the pictures of my nailbinding (page 112 – pic. 151 & 153 – one of my nailbinded and embroidered neck warmers and my nailbinded and embroidered mittens & cap combination).
I especially like the part about the several possible stitches/techniques like the “Oslo” stitch, the “York” stitch, and many more… and the best of all – also for the ones among you who don’t understand German – she provides great step-by-step pictures for all techniques and even more – how to start and how to connect for the second row…
I think this small book is a great addition for everyone who is interested into nailbinding and I am very looking forward to reading mine.
