I always wanted to make a neck warmer and I thought I could try to do it using my new learned nailbinding technique – I think nailbinding needs much more practise than embroidery to really learn the technique and I really think that the result is quite nice
…why I put it on artfire? I think I just give it a try but this neck warmer is sooooo cosy and warm, that I am still not sure if I shouldn’t keep it for myself… cosy Virgin Wool Merino!! ![]()
I will decide it as soon as the temperature drops to about 0° Celsius here in Vienna…
Fancy embroidered nailbinded neck warmer – Merino & Alpaca
Neck size: about 36 cm +
technique: Nailbinding / Nadelbinden
Materials used:
- red wool – “Ragazza Lei” by Lana Grossa, color 009, 100% Schurwolle Merino / Virgin Wool Merino
-black wool – “Gedifra Highland Alpaca”, made in Peru for Coats GmbH, 50% Alpaca (superfine), 50% Schurwolle (Andean Highland) New Wool
Completely worked by hand and gently prewashed with a mild soap
