…und nun mache ich die Haltefäden…
…at many technic descriptions for the Bayeux Stitch you can see that first all the holding stitches are made and than couched – I love to make a holding stitch and couch it while “going” back, than I make the next holding stitch and couch it while “going” back and so on…

…bei vielen Beschreibungen der Technik des Bayeux-Stiches sieht man, das zuerst alle Haltestiche gemacht und dann erst gecouched (“vernäht”) werden – Ich bevorzuge die Reihenfolge zuerst einen Haltestich zu machen und ihn beim “Zurückgehen” zu vernähen – dann mache ich den nächste Haltestich und vernähe ihn wieder beim “Zurückgehen” und so weiter…

This is a gorgeous piece! I’m looking forward to seeing it finished. In fact, I really must try to get to an event on the continent in the hope of seeing it for real.
As it happens, I couch the holding threads in place as I do them as well.
