SCA scrolls – a glimpse at my very first sigilium reginae

ok, a small glimpse at my very first sigilium reginae for HRM Eleanora – more detailed pics after the Double Wars event in Nordmark :)

…I finished it last weekend and sent it on its way on monday morning – please keep your fingers crossed that it will arrive in time at HRM address before the event… :)

Ramsch & Rosen – I did it again – more new “flea market” finds :)

I did it again – I visited my friend Astrid from “Ramsch und Rosen” and stumbled upon a big box, which just freshed arrived, and found threads, threads and just more threads,… and some buttons :) …and other cute stuff :) ))

very nice,… but my real favourite is this:

…normally I hate ear clips – really, I hate them, because they hurt – normally – but not these one… I had them on my ears since I bought them and they still don’t hurt and they look soooooo cute!!! :D

I really love “Ramsch und Rosen:)

Ramsch & Rosen – new “flea market” finds :)

Ramsch und Rosen” is a cute small shop here in Vienna – it’s like a big flea market, just in one shop – my personal small heaven ;)

I am visiting my friend Astrid, who works at “Ramsch und Rosen“, nearly every week – she works on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, really a very nice girl with whom I love to chat and there are new things which I can discover nearly every week… and here are some of my recent bargains :)

Do you remember my pimped picnic basket? …a lady at facebook proposed that a nice tablecloth would be a great addition and I found this two lovely tablecloths – such a nice addition for my picnic basket – …and I also found three nice hankies, one silk hanky and the other two embroidered and I couldn’t resist… :)

…and recently I found this lovely treasure – this lovely lace collar:

…and I found for my steam punk outfit (and I am quite sure, for many other steam punk outfits too) this cute small badges and another (navy?) cap :)

…and I love fans!!! …not the cheap ones from China they sell everywhere – I especially love old ones and I found two really lovely fans – wooden and painted :)

I still have to repair the big fan but first I have to get some nice trim in a matching size and color :)

…and I also found two nice belts, a nice belt closure and some beads… :)

photos from the “Schwarzer Reigen” in Schloß Neugebäude / Vienna :)

…and here some photos taken at the “Schwarzer Reigen” from Joanna Pianka, a very nice friend of mine which I haven’t seen for many years until Saturday *lol* – and I really love this 3 photos she took… Please check out her website: http://www.300dpi.at/ – I really love her photos and I am quite sure some of you will love them too! :)

…ok, here the photos – by courtesy of Joanna Pianka / you can find this and many other great photos at www.gothic.at

…working on my very first steampunk outfit – my victorian inspired cloak :)

Schwarzer_Reigen_2011-05_01aOk, a friend of mine said that it is not possible to sew a nice cloak/whatever/… within just some days and I thought I should give it a try and proof that it is possible – yeah, you know I love such challenges *lol*

…and here the result – I started on last weeks Wednesday and did my last stitches shortly before the “Schwarzer Reigen” on Saturday 8:50 pm, which just left me enough time for a shower, make up and to get dressed… *lol*

…btw. the idea for this cloak is based on a cloak from the Victorian time and it’s not finished yet, but ready to be used for the “Schwarzer Reigen”  and I really think that it is a nice result for the little time I had to create the pattern and to sew it – I think it’s also a nice start for my very first steampunk outfit :)

No, I had no pattern – I created it by using some linen fabric and my dress form, I just had some photos from a nice cloak from the website Vintagetextile which I can’t show you because it’s already sold and I don’t have the copyright for the pics… btw. the pattern for the sleeves is the same which I used for my blue 14th century wool dress – unfortunatelly I forgot that I constructed the seam for the arm hole very low and therefore the sleeves are much longer than they should be – at the moment I am not sure if I like it and will keep it this way or if I reopen the seams again and fix it – but somehow I like this wavy style of my sleeves… ok, we’ll see… ;)

Just some photos for inspiration, an idea how the pattern could look like and a challenge against myself – a lovely combination ;)

…and because some of my friends wanted photos – here we are, some fast photos taken during my very last preparations before I left for the party… and yeah, it was a great night!
…and no, I didn’t take photos of the creation process – there was not enough time *lol*
…please don’t forget – it’s still not finished yet :)

Nano Cube news: Ottocinclus vittatus babies!!! .2

DSC01099You maybe remember my postings about the Ottocinclus vittatus babies?
day 1 – after hatchingday 2day 3day 5 & day 7

…unfortunatelly they vanished after day 8 and we didn’t see any of them again – maybe, because the nano cube was rather “young” and they couldn’t find enough food – we tried to feed them with some extra liquid food just for them but somehow it didn’t work…

…but it seems that mother nature and our Ottis gave us another chance – about one week ago another one of the female Ottocinclus vittatus spawned and we have babies again!!! …and really a lot of them, even now on day 7 after hatching we could count 16 babies…

…and yes, I took some new photos for you :)

DSC01050

DSC01054

…babies, babies, everywhere :) wooohoooo! :)

…recently we discovered that 2 of our corydoras habrosus (catfish) were missing and we also discovered that many of our catfish lost their barbel…  it seems that the sand which we bought wasn’t save for our small catfish – therefore we got some fine sand from an aquarium shop and during the last water change we made a small sand basin for them… including some tubifex for them – quasi a ’round the clock open buffet ;) …and it seems that they like it :)

DSC01072

DSC01090

…btw. in many books you can read that the fish are normally living in one region – ground, middle or under the surface…
we discovered that our cute catfish, which are fish which normally live in the ground region, prefer to sleep up in the penthouse *lol* ;)
