Finally my photos taken at the Kingdom Universtiy near Hamburg are online now:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/racaire/sets/72157622701301219/
Gunnhild and Volker, members of the shire Aventiure, tried their best to make my stay as comfortable & interesting as possible and we also managed to visit three museums
Kingdom University was very interesting and I think my class was a success because it was a lot of fun – hopefully the class will result in many new Klosterstich projects and I am very looking forward to see the results ![]()
Furthermore I am very happy to tell that the charter of the Dragon’s Needle Embroidery Guild was signed by Their Majesties Judith and Gerhardt and King Gerhardt sealed the charter with the front gem of the crown of Drachenwald ![]()
The second Guild Meeting was very interesting – Many thanks to Gunnhild, Eleanora, Katherina and Rakonczay for attending the Guild Meeting and I also want to thank the other ladies who attended the Guild Meeting but are no members by now. Just a short summary for everyone who is interested: We discussed the possibility of the Guild participating in the ‘Coronation Cloak for Frankmark’ project but we think that as long as no details are known a further discussion is more or less senseless. We had a great idea for a new challenge concerning a new wall decoration for events – you will get to know more as soon as I worked out thedetails ![]()
To bad that I only managed to visit two classes and missed the class of lady Himiltrude – hopefully I will be able to visit the next University event and to attend more classes.
The Pelican ceremony was very interesting – btw: Congratulations to the new Pelican Master Robert of Canterbury!
The most funny part of the event, besides my class, was the dancing after the feast (Master Giano and the kitchen crew did a great job!) – Queen Judiths 15th century dances made me really breathless
Many thanks to everyone who made this event possible!
Ok, I am back home in good old Vienna again and my boyfriend and Cleo (my cat) still recognize me
…and I brought many Fotos with me, the Dragon’s Needle Embroidery Guild Charter was signed, sealed and followed me back home & I suppose my “Klosterstich” class was a success – and yes, it was a great event and Gunnhild & Volker from the shire Aventiure took care of me and I enjoyed staying with them near Hamburg very much…
More pictures and information will follow soon…
…today I will fly to Hamburg and this weekend I will attend the (SCA) University in Germany (near Hamburg) this time hosted by the (SCA) shire Two Seas – I am very looking forward to see some of my friends from Germany, Finnland, Sweden, England, … again ![]()
I am very looking forward to attend the dance, illumination, ‘Burgundian Woven Necklace’,… classes and to hold my own Klosterstich class and Guild meeting
…ok, I will be in Hamburg until the 17th of November and therefore not available via eMail
SCA – University in Germany – I am coming!!!
Flight to Hamburg booked and reservation for a bed at University approved
…it seems that I inspired at least one lady of my Klosterstich class to finish her sample
very lovely work
ok, my flight had a delay of 1,5 hours and I got home about one hour ago – I am very tired but I checked my eMails as far as possible…
the event was great – Anya got her Laurel, I met some very nice good friends (Olaf and his gentle Lady from Darmstadt offered me to wait at their home (and something to eat and to drink
after the event because otherwise I had to wait at the airport for more than six hours)
the rooms at University were cold but the hearts of the people I met were open wide and I really enjoyed this event – especially because I could see Anya during her vigil and see her Laurel ceremony…
I had a great time, I am at home, I am save and I am very tired… – I just wanted to let you know
ok, everything done besides:
> iron the underdress – still open
> iron the red dress or the bayeux dress – still open
(to finish the handouts and samples was more important – btw. I hate ironing)
> try if the sewing basket fits inside the luggage
(not enough place left in the luggage)
> buy “Batterien” for the digital-camera!
(will be done after my shower and before the Taxi picks me up to the airport – at about 3pm – it’s just a short walk to the other side of the street)
…and concerning my wallhanging – I took it off my frame and I will transport it rolled in a “transportation roll” in the hand luggage – it’s a little bit bigger than the sizes for the hand luggage but I hope they won’t mind…

…and I tried to make two small tokens for the A&S display at university – two small pincushions but I am not sure if they are good enough for someone entering an A&S display *sigh*
ok, there are some news besides embroidery
1) classes at university:
the Kingdom University Chancellor told me that she has “already received email from people saying they want to attend this class” – ok, I will make a handout and I will hold this class… and I hope you will bring your embroidery frames, embroidery needles, fabric and wool…
2) new moas in our shire:
to get more time for our shire homepage, my own homepage, my own blogs, … and last but not least all my embroidery projects (and because I have to write a handout for university
I stepped down and handed the office of the Moas over to the competent hands of Chrissi in my shire. I am sure she will do her best and that she is the best woman for this job
…therefore some work at the homepage today and not very much progress at my wallhanging…
3) wallhanging progress:
at the moment I am working at the background of the 7th window – nothing really interesting – I will post the next picture when the background is finished.
The Schedule for classes at University is up and because I couldn’t find my class I wrote a new eMail to the Kingdom University Chancellor, because I don’t know if she allready got my eMail about my class(es)
– and here a copy of the text to let you know what I am planning to do:
Refilsaum – Embroidery Workshop
Description: If you want to do some practise before the university you can find the class handout at http://www.sca-austria.org/as/projekte/raca/Refilsaum.pdf
This class will be limited to 10 people – please bring your own embroidery frame/Stickrahmen!
Taught by: Lady Racaire
Approx.duration of the class: 1-2 hours
…I have no class-handout till now but I can also offer this class:
Klosterstich – Embroidery Workshop
Description: This class will be limited to 10 people – please bring your own embroidery frame/Stickrahmen!
Taught by: Lady Racaire
Approx.duration of the class: 1-2 hours
…oh my dear, I am insane, I have no handout till now and I hate teaching (I have to admit that I really think that I am not a good teacher), oh my dear *sigh*, I am a stupid, crazy, insane girl… *lol*
Update 13.11.2007:
ok, they have allready enough classes for university -
therefore I will hold ‘only’ my Refilsaum-class
