“Coat of Arms” Wallhanging progress – wooohoooo!

Fru Renika posted about the progress of the “Coat of Arms” Wallhanging:

The Wallhanging project

Even in this very basic stage concerning the sewing – she is planning the outlay of the final wallhanging – it looks really awesome and gives a clue of the finished wallhanging – I am very looking forward to seeing the next progress :D

Once again I heartily thank every artisan who contributed to this great project!

Coat of Arms Wallhanging for Drachenwald – the lady who made the most patches…

The lady/lord who made the most patches for the wallhanging is lady Petronilla!!!!!

Guild-project-1_most-patches_Petronillas-gift

Some time ago I decided to give a gift to the lord or lady who finishes the most patches for the wallhanging and Petronilla did an outstanding job by finishing patch after patch after patch …

Thank you very much Petronilla!!!!

…such a talented embroiderer but she had no needleroll till now… now she is the owner of a small Klosterstich needle roll with a medieval rose :) …I love having my artfire shop – it’s nice to have small gifts at the back hand and I am sure this item is now in very good hands! :)

Update Guild Project – Drachenwald Coat of Arms :) – …Evis patches :)

Evi-2010_3…and finally Evis (SCA: Hedwig) patches for the wallhanging – one for Drachenwald and one for our shire (Ad Flumen Caerulum) :)

Evi made a small mistake concerning the size of the patch for our shire but I hope a lady assembling it at University can add two small laurel wreaths and make the whole patch a little bit smaller that it can be used – unfortunately I got the patch yesterday and couldn’t change it myself because today during the morning I handed all patches to my friend Petronilla before we started our textile shopping and museum program for today – she is visiting Vienna this weekend and she will mail them with her patches from Germany to Sweden… :)

Many thanks to Petronilla for her help – for mailing them from Germany and all the beautiful patches she made! :)

…and here some photos of Evis patches – first the Drachenwald patch:

Update Guild Project – Drachenwald Coat of Arms :) – …more patches

Chrisi1Last week I got Chrisis patch by snail mail – lovley small patch, made by applique :)

Chrisi says about herself that she isn’t an embroiderer – but I think her embroidery is lovely :)

…and here another patch I made – this time for Uma :)

I used Klosterstich for the filling & stem stitch for the outlines of the fish and some chain stitch for the laurel wreath and some buttonhole stitch to apply the blue stripe on the white fabric…

Update Guild Project – Drachenwald Coat of Arms :) – more and more patches

DSC04088Do you remember the “Drachenwald Coat of Arms” project of the Dragon’s Needle Embroidery Guild?

…a fun project for embroiderers and artisans – regardless if beginner or embroidery ‘oldtimer’ ;) – for guild members and non-guild members and even for some artisans far outside the borders of the SCA kingdom of Drachenwald :D

I am sooooo satisfied that so many artisans and embroiderers volunteered to make pateches and love all the beautiful patches they have produced :)

Soon the wallhanging will be assembled at the annual SCA event “University” – this time in Nordmark, 5-7 November in Årås Kvarn, Kölingared, Sweden, “Kingdom University and Baronial Investiture” – I really wish I could attend this great event but my money is short this year and I can’t afford the travelling costs for this years University… *sigh* …but it’s great to know that my patches will travel there :)

This week lady Tamaras lovely patches – the two patches at the bottom on the pic above and the other photos underneath – from Bulgaria!!! arrived – Drachenwald is really a huge kingdom! :)
…and soon I will get lady Chrisis and lady Hedwigs patches (two ladies of my shire) and my good friend lady Petronilla, who visits me at the beginning of October, will take all patches to Germany and send them with her own patches via snail mail to lady Renika in Sweden, who takes care of the assembling of the patches at University… yeah, that’s the SCA / Drachenwald which I love!!! great SCA post service ;)

…as soon as I get more patches I will take a photo of them and post them here… :)

PPpppsssst… the Dragon’s Needle Embroidery Guild
has now also a
fanpage at facebook :)

…btw. you can find all postings concerning this project (and more info about my patches) here: Archive for the ‘Guild Projekt I – 2010’ Category …and here is an online calender for Drachenwald :)

Ok, finally here the promised photos of Tamaras patches:

Update Guild Project – Drachenwald Coat of Arms :) – CoA Baerenau

DSC04001

I hope some of you remember the Guild project for 2010: “Drachenwald Coat of Arms” – many artisans already volunteered to make a patch but still many coats are searching for volunteers…

I already finished a patch for my own shire Ad Flumen Caerulum and because my friends Anke and Sunny from Baerenau lent me some armour for my very first heavy fighting tourney at Volkers and Gunnhilds wedding ceremony (2008) I decided to make the Baerenau patch – many thanks to Anke and Sunny, I enjoyed the tourney very much and I hope to meet you soon again :)

…and yes, I didn’t forget to take a photo of the back side:

outlines: stem stitch / Stielstich

This Guild project is open to everyone – if you would like to participate – please let me know! :)

some interesting links – SCA :)

1) I would ask all SCA members who visit my blog to take part in the SCA Census:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SCA2010Census

I already did it and I hope that also many other people will participate (regardless if you were a member but aren’t yet, are a member or thinking about becoming a member)

2) …at the moment many people are working at their patches for the

“Coat of Arms Wallhanging for Drachenwald” Project

We have already many project members but I am still looking for volunteers for the coat of Arms for some groups – this is an open project, you don’t need to be a SCA member or a Guild member) – if you are interested, please just let me know! :)

3) …and I support the

“Token Challenge” of Meisterinne Katheryn Hebenstreitz

Yeah, Drachenwald is running out of tokens – like scrolls there is always a need for tokens and I hope some of you will join our “Token Challenge” – if you are living in another kingdom, please consider to make some for your kingdom – I am sure they will be very appreciated :) )

Here a link to Drachenwald awards and for everyone who never did a token and has no idea how to make one – here is a photo docu of a token which I made some time age :)
