Today Elsa (a SCA member from Germany), Anna (a friend of mine) and I visited the Intarsia exhibition on display at the “Österr. Museum für Volkskunde / Wien” – btw. tomorrow is the last day of this special exhibition on display here in Vienna…
And a very nice lady of the museum allowed me to take pictues of this lovely embroidered Woollen Tapestry and I took many many photos – you can find them >uploaded to my Flickr account < …
…and because one of my friends, who is also interested into embroidery, didn’t know about the exhibition, I once again I want to point you to or remind you on this very nice exhibition on display at the ‘Österreichisches Museum für Volkskunde‘ at the moment -
if you are living here (or just visiting Vienna) and interested into embroidery, you should visit the exhibition before it leaves the town:
Inlaid-Patchwork in Europe from 1500 to the Present
1.10.2009 – 14.3.2010
Today I visited the special exhibition “Tuchintarsien in Europa von 1500 bis heute – Inlaid-Patchwork in Europe from 1500 to the Present” (02. Oct. 2009 – 14. March 2010) on display at the “Österreichisches Museum für Volkskunde” – next stations of the exhibition, according to the exhibition flyer:
-> Bautzen, Stadtmuseum – 18. April 2010 – 27. June 2010
-> Leeds, Art Gallery Museum and Discovery Centre, 27. August 2010 – 31. October 2010
It’s not allowed to take photos at the exhibition, but there is a nice catalogue available (with more examples of Inlaid Patchwork than on display at the exhibition) – the catalogue is German / English (left text column in German, right text column in English).
